During Raj Raina’s middle school days, now age 15, he noticed parents were leaving their cars running while picking up their children.
Being an environmentally conscience young individual, he thought this process wastes both gasoline and pumps harmful pollutants into the air. Consequently, Raina started an anti-idling campaign and within 6 six weeks, over one third of the vehicles engines were turned off while waiting for their children.
Since then, Raina has taken his campaign state wide which won him recognition as one of 17 Detroit Free Press Michigan Green leaders.
The list of green leaders include businesses both small and large with people such as Raina, and huge corporations such as General Motors.
